An Adaptive Technique for the Enhanced Fusion of Low-Light Visible with Uncooled Thermal Infrared Imagery
نویسندگان
چکیده
A new algorithm is introduced that performs spatially adaptive enhancement on low-light visible and infrared images of the same scene and fusion of these into one composite image. The algorithm involves lowpass/high-pass ltering and simple nonlinear operations that can be table driven. Examples of the processing on image data collected in eld tests are given.

Fusion of Thermal Infrared and Visible Images Based on Multi-scale Transform and Sparse Representation
Due to the differences between the visible and thermal infrared images, combination of these two types of images is essential for better understanding the characteristics of targets and the environment. Thermal infrared images have most importance to distinguish targets from the background based on the radiation differences, which work well in all-weather and day/night conditions also in land s...
متن کاملImage Fusion & Mining Tools for a COTS Environment
We have continued development of a system for multisensor image fusion and interactive mining based on neural models of color vision processing, learning and pattern recognition. We pioneered this work while at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, initially for color fused night vision (low-light visible and uncooled thermal imagery) and later extended it to multispectral IR and 3D ladar. We also developed ...

متن کاملScene Recognition with Infrared, Low-Light, and Sensor-Fused Imagery
The goal of this study was to evaluate the information conveyed by singleand dual-band sensor imagery by assessing performance on a scene recognition task. An experiment tested immediate recognition for pictures following an initial brief viewing. Images were taken with an uncooled LIMIRS long-wave infrared sensor and a Fairchild image intensified low-light CCD, and were compared against fused,...

Due to the differences between the visible and thermal infrared images, the combination of these two types of images leads to better understanding of the characteristics of targets and the environment. Thermal infrared images are really in distinguishing targets from the background based on the radiation differences and land surface temperature (LST) calculation. However, their spatial resolu...
